Instant Care, Inc. Awarded PERS/Tele-Medical Triage Pilot Program.

December 8, 2011, Vista, Ca   - Instant Care, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a twelve-month pilot program by the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. The pilot is scheduled to begin January 1, 2012.

The program is designed to provide 24-hour, seven day per week, Tele-medical triage care and emergency response services to a test group of the State’s Medicare recipient population. The Tele-medical services provided via the Instant Care triage system will serve as a powerful and cost effective method for providing recipients with non-urgent medical needs immediate access to unlimited personalized Tele-medical care from the comfort of their own home.

With medical costs skyrocketing, the SCDHHS has identified the Instant Care console as a viable solution to help Medicare participants who have exhibited a propensity to over-utilize costly and potentially counter-productive ER facilities for non-urgent needs. The pilot program will be overseen by the University of South Carolina along with the SCDHHS. It is believed that approximately 40% of non-urgent ER visits will be avoided or re-directed to the appropriate level of healthcare. This move will provide the recipients faster, more effective care, while saving the State of South Carolina millions of dollars in healthcare expenses.
